Bernhard Tonninger

Bernhard Tonninger co-founded Tonninger Riegler Maierhofer in 2005 where he focuses on unfair competition law, intellectual property law, civil law and litigation.

After graduating from the University of Graz Law School in 1995, Bernhard wrote his theses on Copyright and the Internet and was a Research Assistant to Prof. Pamela Samuelson at Cornell Law School. He worked for an Austrian Tier 1 law firm in Vienna, Ljubljana and Zagreb. In 2003 he founded his own law firm.

Bernhard is admitted to the Austrian bar and advises national and international clients. He is especially engaged in litigation before the Commercial Court of Vienna, the Austrian Higher Courts and the Austrian Supreme Court. He had a recent headline-case at the European Court of Justice. Bernhard lectures for the MBA-Program at University of Linz Business School. He has reviewed numerous Supreme Court decisions and recently contributed to the leading Austrian commentaries on trademark law and copyright law.
