Srecko Jelinic

Srecko Jelinic is a full-time professor and Head of the Cathedra of Company and Commercial Law at School of Law and School of Economics of University of J.J. Strossmayer, Croatia.

Professor Jelinic received his graduate, master and PhD diploma from the University of Zagreb School of Law. He has published 2 books and more then 50 papers in different legal and economic journals. He received numerous International scholarships and was visiting professor at the Faculte internationale pour l'enseignement du droire compare in Strassbourg in 1973, the Hague Academy for International Law 1974, and the Nordisk Institute for Sjorett in Oslo 1977.

During 1979/80 he was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Columbia School of Law and the University of Oregon School of Law. In 1986 he was a visiting professor at the School of Law in Athens and later on, during 1996, was admitted as DAAD
visiting professor in Pforzheim, Germany. At the beginning of his career he worked at the Adriatic Institute of Croatian Academy of science, Faculty of International Trade and Commerce, also as Deputy head of public prosecutor's office. Later, in 1998 he was appointed as a Head of the State office for cooperation with International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

Professor Jelinic is a member of the Parliamentary Committee for legislation, member of several Croatian and international law organizations and appointed arbitrator of Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Macedonia.

At present, Professor Jelinic's research focuses on different insolvency procedure issues and development and harmonization of Croatian Company Law with acqui communautaire of the European union.
